Number of households by size and type

The table contains annual information on the number of households by type and size for Türkiye total since 2014. Household is defined as a person living alone or a group of persons residing in the same address, with or without any kind of kinship. Persons living in collective living quarters (institutional place, worker dormitories, guesthouses, hotels etc.) are excluded. This definition is based on the international household-dwelling concept. Household types are broadly categorized as "One-person households", "One-family households", "Extended-family households" and "Multi-person no-family households". In addition, one-family households can be further categorized as "Couple without resident children", "Couple with at least one resident child" and "Lone parents with at least one resident child". Furthermore, lone parents with at least one resident child can be further categorized as "Lone fathers with at least one resident child" and "Lone mothers with at least one resident child".
