Total numbers may not give the exact total due to rounding. Annual information from 2007 onward is from the Address Based Population Registration System (ABPRS) results.

The table contains periodic(quarterly) information on population size and proportion by age group and sex for Türkiye total as of July 1, 2024. Age groups are given in five-year intervals up to 90+. Periodic population statistics based on the ABPRS are produced for Türkiye total for the reference dates of April 1, July 1, and October 1, respectively, and are published with the ABPRS results dated December 31. Q1 refers to the April 1st, Q2 refers to the July 1st, Q3 refers to the October 1st and Q4 refers to the December 31st of the reference year.

Thinly populated areas are quarters and villages that have more than 50% of their population living in rural grid cells. Following the determination of rural-urban class of quarters and villages, population of provinces and districts according to the new urban-rural classification are obtained through aggregation.
